5 Lessons I Learned In The Five Years Of Married
My husband and I celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary on December 14, 2018. How do they say: you (and your partner) should eat seven bags of salt or something.
One thing I realized is that almost every day I learn something new about my husband. Really!
And nowadays I watch a YouTube video where actor Will Smith says he saw someone when he and his wife, Jada, were married for 17 years. And the man said unto him, Ye know nothing yet.
Nevertheless, here are five things I learned from my marriage:
- Don't assume (Don't make assumptions), especially when it comes to doing homework. Don't think about your partner and don't think he or she can read your mind.
- Some of his (or mine) decisions may be based on his background / how he grew up / his history.
- Communication is very important.
- You will always learn something new about your husband (or wife) - whether it's his past or a new thing in his (or her) life.
- It's important to look after yourself (to take a break) and also to allow your partner to take time for himself.
